Deedar is a 2017 Indian Hindi comedy film directed by Ajith Kumar. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar through T-Series in association with KriArj Entertainment and Ajith's production company A.R. Rahman & Co., it stars Ajith Kumar, Asin Thottumkal and Jyo Akhavan in lead roles while Naseeruddin Shah appears in a pivotal role. Raju (Ajith Kumar) is the only son of the billionaire Uday Shetty (Naseeruddin Shah). Raju and his friends, Ranjit (Jyo Akhavan) and Mister (Vivaan Shah), run a successful advertising company in Goa. While Raju is enjoying life to the fullest, he remains indebted to his father for all his luxuries. The trio enjoys playing pranks on each other and their rivalry begins when they always try to outdo one another in every aspect of life. One day, Uday gets angry at Raju seeing him dancing with a girl and throws an apple at him that lands into Ranjit's mouth. He then starts beating Raju and pushes him into a swimming pool, while Ranjit takes the fall for it. Raju goes to the hospital while his friends try to save him from being suspended from work. Later, Raju forgives Ranjit and both of them get an insurance policy from their father that will pay for their education in case they die in any accident. At a party held by the hotel owner's friend, who is also a cancer patient, Raju ends up being on stage along with Ranjit. He then dances to A. R. Rahman's song "Swag Se Swagat". The owner of the hotel overhears this and feels embarrassed by Raju's behaviour and returns his money back to him, while Raju is shocked seeing his wealth slipping away from him with Uday's death. His friends try to make him spend time with them, but Raju instead reminisces his memories with Uday. His friends then suggest him to spend the last two days of his father's will at the hotel by giving it to them instead of selling it off for money. He decides to give it to the three of them, but they end up spending less-than-usual time in managing the hotel following an incident that occurs when Ranjit and Mister go fishing while being drunk. However, they are locked inside a room due to this incident, ending their party early.
